Looking for a fabulous place to grab a cup of coffee and catch up with friends? Here are our top picks.

Grounded at Echo
At this quirky coffee shop and co-working space (offering delicacies like peach and blueberry pie – yum!) they believe that coffee is more than a drink, it’s a catalyst for conversation and community. They created it as a space in the Moot for people to meet and chat and make connections, and from there it’s grown from strength to strength. Pop past to soak up the unique energy of this spot.

Aroma Gourmet Coffee Roastery
With coffee from Columbia, Guatemala, Uganda, Ethiopia and South Africa, you’re guaranteed a superb cup of coffee from Aroma Gourmet Coffee Roastery. Their Roastery and Bistro in Silverlakes is our favourite, although the Brooklyn store comes a close second and we also love their food truck…

Blos Café
This Faerie Glen café is full of style, and offers not only superb coffee and eats but interesting events – like Brandy and Pudding Pairing and Wine and Person Pairing (speedy dating like you’ve never seen it before – with De Grendel Wines!) Definitely worth a visit.

Good Stuff Café
The Good Stuff Café in Waterkloof offers coffee, food and smoothies – and loads of good vibes. Our favourite weekday morning spot for a cup of coffee, we also love their fresh and lovely food (and their rhubarb tart!)

Pure Café
A great spot not only for excellent coffee but also interesting events like Gin O’Clock gin pairing and ‘sub-urban delicacies’ (as their catchline promises). With a Paleo and Banting menu, charming décor and delicious food, this café has it all.
