Boland Cellar treated media to a day of food and wine in honour of International Drink Chenin Blanc Day as well as their 75th birthday.

In collaboration with Food Jams by Jade De Waal (Masterchef SA contestant, season one), Boland Cellar took us on a new and innovative culinary and wine experience. The day started off with a sample of Boland Cellar’s soon-to-be released Chenin Blanc-based MCC, which should hit shelves in 2017. Then it was off to the kitchen to find out what we were in for.
After hearing cellar master Johan Joubert enthusiastically talk about the potential of Chenin Blanc in SA, it was time to get cooking with a glass of Chenin in hand, of course. We were split into groups and then got to work on our take on the recipes in front of us. What was learnt? I’m apparently I’m better at drinking Chenin Blanc then making Vietnamese spring rolls.
After a great session of way too many cooks in the kitchen, we sat down and enjoyed a family-style meal while enjoying the Five Climates Chenin Blanc.
