Young Saturdays, an initiative hosted by Cape Town’s popular Bay Harbour Market aims at not only keeping the kiddies busy and entertained, but also giving their parents some down-time to shop and enjoy everything the market has to offer. Best news yet, is that it’s completely free of charge, compliments of Bay Harbour Market.
Each Saturday will see a face painter and clown entertain with laughter, balloon animals and art, as well as a uniquely-different activity each week. Parents are invited to kick start their Saturday mornings with breakfast at the Bon Amie stand where their kids can eat with them for free.
The first Saturday of December will see aspiring little bakers entertained and educated on baking their very own cupcake… and then given the creative freedom to decorate it.. Little bakers will be assisted by Gigi, The Banting Baker, a well-loved vendor at Bay Harbour Market. What’s more, these cupcakes are sugar free as well as wheat and gluten free….so no guilt, moms.

Other highlights in December include a recycling sculpture activity as well as Magic by Dev, an interactive comedian-come-magician who guarantees awe and laughter.
Specific kids’ stalls include Lucky Duck Toys, J.Beenz funky kids’ fashion, hair braiding, henna tattoos, Cynthia’s for hip African-inspired dresses, as well as a range of healthy juices and smoothies and other yummy snacks.
