Sometimes, the best way to spend Christmas day is surrounded by family, having a good time, enjoying great food… and not having to think about lifting a finger! If you’re not quite up to putting on the full turkey-and-ham show, these Joburg favourites are offering Christmas day lunch, so that all you need to do is pitch up. It’ll be your most relaxing Christmas yet!

The Moon and Sixpence

Situated about 30 minutes from Sandton, The Moon and Sixpence is famous for having one of the very best Sunday lunches around, so it’s no surprise that their Christmas day feast should be just as fabulous. Starting at 12:30pm with a welcome drink, R465 per person will get you a three-course meal served right at your table, which includes incredible treats like honey-glazed, smoked gammon steak, lamb cutlets, grilled salmon, and traditional turkey. Plus, Father Christmas will also be present, as well as a family photographer to capture all of the little one’s special moments with him – a perfect stress-free Christmas out for the whole family. Children below three are free, four to seven years old pay R120 each, and eight to 12 years old cost R230 each.
Update: The Moon and Sixpence is fully booked for Christmas lunch.

Parc Fermé

If you haven’t yet had the chance to dine at Sandton’s delicious Parc Fermé, Christmas day lunch is the perfect opportunity. Expect classic festive dishes served in the restaurant’s signature French style over five courses, as well as some signature favourites like chilled avocado soup and prawn salad, and, of course, buche de noel with pistachio ice cream for dessert. R595 per person.

Flames Restaurant at The Four Seasons Hotel the Westcliff

If you’re looking for the kind of Christmas day celebration that’ll truly knock your Christmas stockings off, this brunch buffet is sure to be one that you’ll never forget. If breakfast is your thing, then you can look forward to favourites like a fruit selection, bakery basket, cereal selection and, of course, all the usual fry-up goodies. Or, if lunch is more your thing, you can expect everything from West Coast oysters, to caviar, vegan salads, and hot main options with traditional roast turkey, grilled beef filler, and Norwegian salmon. This is Christmas after all, so why not both for R1,450 per person.
