Now in its eighth year, the Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo returns to Val de Vie Estate on Saturday, 3 March, promising a heady mix of champagne, fashion, incredible polo and people-watching.
Simone de Wet, MD, Val de Vie Events, says this year’s event promises to be a star-studded a air. “The theme this year is ‘Cape Town Summer’ and we have a new addition in terms of tickets for the ‘Clicquot Picnic’, which at only R350 per person includes access to the picnic area where a cash bar will serve Veuve Clicquot by the glass or bottle at a special event price.”
Guests in the picnic area can look forward to gourmet food trucks serving delicious meals including wood-fired pizza with delicious toppings and home-made ice cream to cool o in the summer heat.
Whether it’s catching a glimpse of stars stepping out of helicopters or admiring the beautifully dressed models as they strut their stuff down the runway, the Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo remains one of the most sought-after social events of the year.
Guests will be treated to a day of fun including incredible hospitality, champagne everywhere they turn, a luxury car showcase, beauty and hair pampering lounges and more. This year, donations will also be made to the development of equestrian and hospitality staff in the Franschhoek-Paarl Valley at the event.
And what about the water crisis that currently has the Western Cape in its grip? “Val de Vie Estate is entirely water independent due to a private plant that purifies groundwater from a localised aquifer and supplies the estate with water for household consumption,” says Simone. However, current Level 6B water restrictions remain in full effect on the estate and additional water-saving initiatives are in place for the event.
Simone says that she’s delighted that Nomzamo Mbatha will be hosting the Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo for the second time this year. “We can’t wait to see what she’ll be wearing!” If you can’t make it to the event, you can still experience the glamour on E!
