If there’s one thing you can be sure of in the Cape Town CBD, it’s that nothing stands still for very long. This buzzing hub of activity in the heart of Cape Town is always developing and growing in some way. Here are some of the new developments to keep an eye out for.

16 on Bree, Bree St
This new luxury lifestyle development will soon be the tallest residential development in the Cape Town CBD, with 36 storeys of retail and residential units being developed by FWJK Development and completed by December 2019.

Urban on Bree, Loop St
This exciting new development at 220 Loop St is all about urban Cape Town lifestyle, with 28 apartments designed by Robert Silke set to be completed by the end of 2017.

KPMG Place, Foreshore
Residential, commercial and retail space will all be found in this new development, another project by FWJK Development that should be completed during 2018 and will alter the Cape Town city skyline.

Tsogo Sun Hotel, Strand St
A 500-room hotel with a modern face, the Tsogo Sun Hotel in Strand St will be completed this year, and promises a luxe offering to visitors to the Mother City.

The Harrington, Harrington St
Harrington Street is one of the hippest CBD blocks, and this new mixed-use development will cover most of the block with a commercial entrance in Harrington Street and retail space on Buitenkant and Barrack Streets as well. It is set to be completed during 2017.

4 Loop St
FWJK Developments has another development on the go in the CBD with 4 Loop Street, which will be a mixed-use building including residences and is estimated to be valued at R20 million.

The Telkom Exchange, Long St
This Long St stalwart is more of a building upgrade than a brand new development, but promises to be just as exciting an addition to the well-known Long St façade.

It’s no surprise that the CBD is one of Cape Town’s hottest property spots – watch this space for further upgrades and developments!
