Tickets may be almost sold out, but there’s another reason to head to Rocking The Daisies
The annual music and lifestyle festival Rocking the Daisies has been a staple on the festival calendar since its inception 12 years ago. Undoubtedly one of the biggest festivals in the country and most forward-thing with its eco-friendly message (“Play hard, tread lightly”), the festival, taking place in the first weekend of October at Cloof Wine Estate, will kick off the summer festival calendar.
Rocking the Daisies 101
For those of you who happened to get your ticket before they were sold out (and good luck to you who are on the waiting list), you can expect a four-day weekend of the best in local and international talent when it comes to music, art, film and comedy. The main features of this year’s festival include Flume, Two Door Cinema Club, Black Coffee, The Naked and Famous, Joey Bada$$, Cassper Nyovest, Snakehips, Sam Paganini, Patrick Topping, Riky Rick, Fokofpolisiekar, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Ray Phiri and Beatenberg.
It’s set to be bigger than ever before. However, if you haven’t got a ticket and want to be close to the party or if you do and you just need a break from the festivities that are RTD, why not pay the host venue a visit and check out what Cloof Wine Estate has to offer?
Cloof Wine Estate
Situated in the quaint town of Darling (known for its wines, artisanal stores, restaurants and spring flowers), Cloof Wine Estate is an enchanting spot that offers stunning views, and delicious wines and food.
On arrival, be sure to make your way to the Tasting Room, where you can sample some of the Cloof Wine Estate’s unique range, from their Bush Vines Range, through to their Signature Range and also the Winemaker’s Collection. The taste and quality of the wines are directly attributed to the fact that the grapes are pre-dominantly from dry bush vines that benefit from the regions amazing combination of soil type and climate.
Once you whet your whistle, it’s time for relaxing meal at Cloof Kitchen. You can enjoy a light lunch either under their pergolas or on the manicured lawns – soaking up the sunshine and overlooking the vineyards. With much of the ingredients of the meals sourced from the estates garden, you can expect a tasty, fresh product.
