Grab a Green Cow at The Barn Restaurant

Relax at The Barn Restaurant at Irene Dairy Farm off Nellmapius Street and enjoy a soda float with a twist in the form of their Green, Brown or White Cows. Originally a golfer’s drink, the Green Cow soda float is made with cream soda and full cream milk, White Cow with gingerbeer and milk, while the Brown Cow is made with coke and milk. This restaurant started as a tea garden 15 years ago and offers families an escape from busy city life with beautiful scenery of farm animals and greenery. For over 100 years, the Van der Byl family, who own the farm, have strived to maintain the authenticity of the farm in an urbanised environment.
