Tell us more about your business.
Owner Michelle du Toit has always been passionate about beauty and leading a healthy lifestyle. The idea of the starting the business happened during one of her routine visits to gym where she would head to the tan can for her daily dose of Vitamin B. One day, the tan can was gone as Virgin Active had cancelled the contract with the company. She spotted the gap in the market and after extensive research about the business and location for the studio, Suntori opened its doors in October 2016 right next to the Bryanston Virgin Active.
Why did you choose this area to set up shop?
After Virgin Active cancelled a contract with a Tan Can company they used in all gyms, we realised there was a big demand for tanning beds.
How has the area changed from when you first started to now?
Over the past five years, the area has had numerous commercial and residential developments, bringing in new clientele on a weekly basis.
Have the changes been for better or worse?
Definitely positive, we recently expanded and launched a new nail lounge to offer a complete beauty experience.
How did you find your premises?
Michelle always wanted the premises to be close to a health and fitness establishment, after numerous site visits, this space was suitable.
Why are they ideally suited to your business?
We get a lot of foot traffic from new and existing clients and the studio is easily accessible from main roads.
What are the shop rental/sales prices like in this area?
Reasonable for this sought after prime location.
What do you love about this neighbourhood?
There is great vibe, secure and close community feel.
Any tips for business owners looking to buy/rent in this area?
Bryanston is a vibrant suburb with potential for growth and an attractive business location.
