You get to be creative, learn new skills and expand your cooking repertoire while making friends. Afterwards savour your creations over a glass of wine with classmates. Classes consist of about eight students, and fresh, seasonal and organic ingredients are used to create the dishes. Learn to cook easy everyday meals, recipes from MasterChef South Africa contestants, or Mexican, Latin American or Carribean dishes.
Get professional training
Situated in Glyn Street in Hatfield, Steyns Culinary School provides full-time and part-time courses where food lovers can master basic cooking skills and advanced techniques. It offers a 12-month full-time culinary arts diploma from City and Guilds. Students complete a six-month training certificate and then work for six months in the industry before receiving their international diploma. The school provides a 10-week part-time course once a week which is an introduction into the culinary arts focusing on practical cookery. Short courses are available for various cooking styles, corporate team-building sessions, training for prospective aupairs, refining housewives’ cooking abilities and empowering unskilled people in cooking.
