Kite surfing is one of the most popular new trends right around the world and Cape Town is an absolute hotspot for this craze. High Five in Blouberg offers daily lessons by a team of experienced and qualified instructors… The rest is up to you and the so-called Cape Doctor – the dry southeasterly wind that blows on the South African coastline from spring to late summer (September to March). The school caters for all kite surfing skill levels – from beginner to advanced kite surfers.

Kite beach: The name says it all! This is not the most popular beach in Cape Town with kite surfers for nothing…

What better way to have a look at this beautiful stretch of coastline that from high up in the air? And make no mistake, this is one adrenalin-filled adventure – soaring in a microlight is certainly not for the faint-heated! These tiny little aircrafts are in fact sturdy little metal containers, and they offer mesmerising views and perspectives of the landscapes below. Louis Geldenhuys’ microlight tours start and and end at the Fisantekraal Airfield just outside Durbanville and encompass the breathtaking West Coast shores and farmlands of this region. Things to look out for include schools of dolphins and even whales, the sheer beauty and scale of Table Mountain as you’ve never seen it before and the quiet beauty of South Africa’s coastline.
