When it comes to luxury, Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff can always be found at the top of the list of South Africa’s hotels.

The ultimate hillside icon that has spent decades making its way into the hearts of generations of Joburgers, still maintains its opulent reputation, while constantly working to thrill and excite guests with the events it hosts.

The latest in these inventive and entertaining specialities is its Art on the Hill events, and with their venue overlooking the City of Gold, they really are the ultimate in cultural and artistic magnificence.

No matter your tastes, chances are there’s an Art on the Hill event to thrill you. With a programme including classical music and jazz performances, art, visual and photographic exhibitions, ballet, fashion events, art talks and various other bespoke happenings, it’s a melting pot of impressive South African talent and inspiring creations, making Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff a true destination for art and culture.

One of the most popular Art on the Hill events to date has been the monthly Jazz on the Hill Sundays. Taking place on the famous Flames deck overlooking the city, it really is the ultimate way to relax and spoil yourself a little on the weekend, while appreciating the beautiful music being played by some of the country’s greatest jazz musicians.

As either a brunch or evening meal, each Jazz on the Hill ticket entitles guests to dine from the ridiculously impressive Flames Sunday buffet, and it definitely lives up to the famous Westcliff food reputation. For brunch, expect options that range from fresh eggs Benedict and omelettes to sushi, oysters, Asian baos, and exciting salads, followed by an impressive made-to-order menu of main dishes – there’s something to whet every appetite, and every single meal is delicious.

Paired with a glass of wine or a cheeky gin and tonic from the Flames menu, few things sound lovelier than sitting in the early spring sun and looking over the Joburg Zoo while listening to the smooth sounds of jazz.

With events coming up regularly in the coming months, make sure to check their website to make sure you get tickets – this is one thing we definitely recommend you don’t miss.
