If you’re looking for a vintage find, you’ve come to the right city! Cape Town is known not only as a fashion hub, but one that offers some of the most delightful thrift and vintage shopping around. Here are a couple of our favourite spots to find previously-loved goods…

Second Time Around, Long St
You’ll find vintage fashion for men and women at this stalwart of a Long Street shop that’s been around since 1972. Whether you’re looking for a special occasion dress or some fabulous accessories, or you just want to step back in time for a little while, you’ll find it all at Second Time Around.

Thrift 01

Glitterati, Long St
Set inside The Long Street Antique Arcade, this vintage and retro clothing shop has some absolute gems, dating from the 1950s to the 1980s and, as they say, often made better than clothes are today! Lose yourself in this fabulous treasure trove.

Afraid of Mice, Long St
Afraid of Mice promises “things you wish your mother had kept for you” – and delivers. With options to buy, sell and trade, this vintage clothing store offers many big names for much smaller prices than you’ll find anywhere else.

Merry Pop Ins, Bree St
If you’re more interested in kids fashion – and toys, furniture and books – than high fashion, Merry Pop Ins is for you. Quality second hand goods, along with a few new and vintage choices, make this a must for any parents looking for a good deal on items in great condition.

Gracious Daisy Vintage, Long St
Vintage clothing, accessories and collectibles for those who really love vintage clothing. With new stock unpacked every few days, you’re sure to find something fabulous at this shop run by real fashion enthusiasts. Check out their Facebook page to see some of their happy customers modelling their new clothes!
