If the words champagne, methode cap classique and sparkling wine send shivers of joy down your spine, we’ve got some great news for you.

From Friday to Sunday, 18 to 20 May, Joburg will host a celebration of all things bubbles, as The Bubbly Festival takes over Hyde Park Corner for the weekend. A tribute to opulence and luxury, the festival is about more than just sipping on sophistication, it’s a chance to celebrate its French roots and embrace the incredible improvements made to the new and proudly South African MCC forms.

Because of the sheer grandeur associated with a glass of champers, it’s no surprise that The Bubbly Festival will take place in one of the city’s most chic venues: The Park House of Events on 7. Located on one of the upper floors of the plush Hyde Park Corner shopping mall, the double-height floor-to-ceiling windows are built to emphasise the beauty of the leafy Joburg suburbs, which you can look over while enjoying your glass of bubbles. Paired with fine food and live music, the entire experience is designed to treat guests to the finer things in life, making it a great way to spend a date, hang out with friends or just appreciate the skills on display.

The main event will inevitably be the champagnes and MCCs themselves. From genuine French champagnes to luxurious South African MCC wines and even some Italian proseccos, it’s a liquid feast. Tickets include a glass and tastings of 10 different vintages. Guests will also have the opportunity to be among the first to sample award-winning Silverthorn vineyard’s newest vintage, the Jewel Box 2014, and so much more.

If you’re itching for a chance to get your top hat or fascinator out, or if you just love the idea of spending an evening in unparalleled luxury, The Bubbly Festival is the perfect way to celebrate.
