It’s that time of the year again – the Cape Town Homemakers Expo is back on Thursday, 30 August, to Sunday, 2 September, at the CTICC with fresh and insightful ideas for homeowners like you and me.
With this year’s theme being “Beautiful Ideas for Real Homes”, you can expect a weekend full of decor, design, lifestyle and DIY – for everyday homes. Here are my top-three highlights for this year’s expo:
The Tuis | Home Theatre returns once again. You can watch their resident experts as they show you practical DIY projects, home makeover ideas and even foodie workshops.
Always a must-see is d’Vine life, where visitors can enjoy artisanal treats, explore the latest food trends, and sample the best wines, gin and beers the Cape has to offer.
And then, the “For the love of Concrete Design and Art Competitions” where designers and artists battle it out for a whopping R36,000. The design competition will feature functional concrete design, whereas the art competition will be a visual expression of all things art. The top entries in both categories will be on display and visitors will be invited to bid on their favourite design or artwork, with funds raised going to Darg (Domestic Animal Rescue Group).
Whether you are looking for home inspiration for your next renovation, ideas to enhance your outdoor living space in time for spring, or just looking at ways to refresh a tired space in your home, Cape Town Homemakers Expo is just for you.
Tickets are available at the door or from Quicket.
