Situated on the upper slopes of Lion’s Head, the impressive The Ridge Estate will soon add luxury community living to the already sought-after Atlantic Seaboard and Cape Town City Bowl, says Ross Levin, Seeff licensee for the area.

While still close to the CBD and Waterfront, The Ridge Estate combines tranquil suburban living with easy access to cosmopolitan life and nature. Aside from the unspoilt views, the estate offers direct access to the wonders of Lion’s Head and Table Mountain with its spectacular hiking trails and tranquil walks. The Ridge features two estates consisting of 25 plots – The Ridge Estate Villas that comprise seven plots, and The Ridge Estate Residences with 18 plots. Security will be state of the art and includes access control, guard houses, monitored and manned 24/7 security, electrified perimeter fencing and CCTV.

The Ridge Estate is being developed on part of the originally endangered Peninsula Shale Renosterveld, a type of vegetation found only on the slopes of Signal Hill and Devil’s Peak. This special natural heritage is honoured in the expansive gardens and shared areas, which will feature only indigenous vegetation, not just for the seasonal colour and scent, but minimal impact on water use, Levin says. The natural heritage, mountain, city and sea inspired the design philosophy and architectural guidelines. Buyers can select from a range of architectural concept homes and engage directly with the architect and builder or, alternatively, design their own. Prices for plots start from R8,6m. A 23-unit apartment block is planned for the future.
