Cintron Pink Polo at Val de Vie returns to emphasise breast cancer awareness

On Saturday, 4 November, the eighth annual instalment of Citron Pink Polo will take place on the beautiful Val de Vie Estate. The event is all about highlighting breast cancer awareness, with fun, food and laughter, while celebrating the survivors and their inspirational stories.

“We at Cintron World are proud to announce our sustained partnership as headline sponsor for the next five years of this illustrious event. We look forward to welcoming survivors and guests from all walks of life to celebrate miracles and join us by continuing to create awareness and empower women and men who are bravely facing the challenges of treatment on a daily basis. Cintron Pink Polo enthusiasts can look forward to another world-class experience this year that goes hand in hand with exquisite fashion, luxurious decor, exciting entertainment and, of course, the 14-high goal Polo with a Purpose to support this dignified cause,” says Chelsea Brehm, director: marketing, Cintron World.

Hosted by two women

This year, for the first time since its inception in 2010, the event will be hosted by two women: the dynamic and entertaining Mishka Patel and KFM 94.5 presenter, Sechaba G. Mishka, a presenter on SABC 2’s Pasella, first attended Cintron Pink Polo two years ago after cancer affected her family.

“My mother passed away from stage four lung cancer in September 2015 and I attended the Cintron Pink Polo event that year in remembrance of her. To be selected as MC for the 2017 event is an honour and an achievement I know she would have been proud of.”

Sechaba G was introduced to Cintron Pink Polo in 2016 through interviewing breast cancer survivors on her afternoon show. “We often forget about the relatives of cancer patients and how they are a¬ffected by the disease,” she says. “Cintron Pink Polo 2017 is a celebration that brings special emphasis on breast cancer awareness and all touched by it.”

Entertainment

Guests will be entertained with a high goal polo match between team sponsors Cintron and Vodacom, captained by Springbok players Tom de Bruin and Leroux Hendriks respectively, competing for the coveted Cintron Pink Polo trophy.

There will also be a selection of artisanal drinks and gourmet food in the Pink Food Truck Fair area for guests to enjoy as they take in the day’s events on blankets and chairs in the spring sunshine.
