For those whose breakfast, lunch or dinner isn’t complete without their furry companion, finding a restaurant to eat at can be tricky… We’ve rounded up a selection of our favourite dog-friendly eateries in the CBD to make your next outing a lot easier.
Company’s Garden Café
This delightful restaurant and café is run by the Madame Zingara team, so you can be sure of delicious food and a flair for the creative – including a welcoming attitude to pets at the table. Most of those tables are outside, in fact, under the trees, and you’re guaranteed a stroll through the Company’s Garden with many squirrels and pigeons to chase after you’ve eaten!
Clarke’s Bar and Dining Room
If you’re in the mood for an amazing burger with a side order of impossibly hip Cape Town vibes, head to Clarke’s Bar and Dining Room – and you’re welcome to bring your dog, as long as they’re on a leash. The space is not particularly big inside, so best to ask for an outside table so your pooch can sit in peace.
SMAK Delicatessen
A great spot to get a delicious breakfast or lunch, this Bree Street café welcomes dogs inside and outside, and gives them fresh water in their own special doggie bowls so they don’t feel too left out of the action! It’s a busy street, so best for dogs who are comfortable with all the noise and action of the City Bowl.
Just because you want to take your dog with you for a meal doesn’t mean you have to limit your foodie choices – at least not in the Cape Town CBD, where pets are welcome guests at these fine restaurants… Do you have any to add?
