When it comes to cocktails, it’s got to be one of the most descriptive concoctions on the block. Call Me An Uber is what you will find on the refreshment menu of the latest addition to the ever-growing bar and bistro cluster of Dolphin’s Leap on the Humewood promenade – the White Tiger Bar and Cafe in Beach Road – and it certainly does give you a ride. It’s a combination of no fewer than five spirits mixed with cranberry juice, pineapple juice and ice and looks like a cocktail party all by itself.
Rustic eatery in PE
White Tiger is a beachy, rustic pub and eatery which lives up to its name by being decorated in wicker, bamboo and earthy-coloured furnishings with soft lighting evoking shades of moonlight, copper and gold. Eclectic murals – including a white tiger, of course – add to the cafe ambience. There’s a strong emphasis on DJ entertainment here with some of the city’s big names featuring on theme nights with wall-to-wall house music.
In addition to the Uber, other cocktails include classics like the cosmopolitan with vodka, cranberry juice and triple sec shaken with ice, along with the mojito, pina colada, Long Island Ice Tea and more.
Drinks at White Tiger
There is also a range of classic wine labels on offer in addition to value-for-money house wines (available by the glass or bottle), bubblies, a full range of spirits (including some of the finest high-end whiskies), shooters, bottled beers, and Black Label and Castle Lite draught on tap.
On the munchies front, sticky pork ribs, burgers, pizzas, salads, smoothies (like a yummy peanut butter and banana),
and desserts will satisfy the inner man and woman. If it’s just snacks to go with the drinks that you’re after, sticky buffalo wings or roasted peanut and zucchini balls are just the ticket.
As chill spots go, this is a venue that’s fine-tuned the mood.
