The luxurious Taj Cape Town is the perfect spot to wind down the end of the year – centrally located in the historic heart of Cape Town yet a world away from the hubbub outside. With a range of Festive Season specials on offer, there’s no better time to experience this beautiful hotel and its amenities, so we’re taking a closer look at what makes Taj Cape Town such a must-visit spot this festive season.

Decadent Rooms
With 176 individually decorated rooms, Taj Cape Town has a wealth of accommodation options suited to travellers. All rooms boast panoramic vistas of the city and Table Mountain, with lavish furnishings and contemporary finishes immersing guests in world-class luxury.

Mint Restaurant & Terrace
Featuring fresh, light and healthy cuisine, Mint Restaurant and Terrace is an informal all-day dining restaurant. Famed for its innovative international and local fare, Mint is a laid-back and family-friendly spot. There’s action both inside and outside of the restaurant – the open plan kitchen showcases the tandoor in full flame, while the terrace spills out onto St George’s Mall with outdoor tables set under the shady trees outside.
Jiva Spa
Taj Cape Town boasts the only Jiva Spa in Africa and the spa’s global principles apply: everything that touches the body is completely natural, with materials like organic cotton, sun-bleached fabric, oven-baked pottery and soy cotton. A range of experiences are on offer, from indulgent and detoxifying massages, body scrubs and wraps to beauty treatments and Indian therapies.

Bombay Brasserie
Focused on fine dining, Bombay Brasserie is Taj Cape Town’s signature restaurant. Modelled on London’s restaurant of the same name, the restaurant has strong South African influences as well as Indian. Open for dinner, the sophisticated restaurant seats just 42 guests and features silk peacock-embroidered chairs, magnificent crystal chandeliers and impeccable service. Executive Chef David Tilly together with his team of five Indian chefs use only the best local ingredients and the finest imported spices to create dishes laced with contemporary flavour.
Kids@Taj
Kids receive a Taj activity passport on arrival, embarking on an exciting journey engaging with bespoke creatively stimulating activities. They’ll leave the hotel with a passport full of new hobbies and memories!

The Twankey Bar
Taj Hotel Cape Town’s in-house bar is an ambient spot that serves a selection of fine craft beer, local wines, delicious cocktails and cider with a tapas menu. With swanky red leather chairs, marble counter tops and a high decorative ceiling, it’s reminiscent of secret speakeasies of the prohibition era, while still offering a distinctive nod to Cape Town’s culture and history.
Afternoon Tea
Served up in the Lobby Lounge, Afternoon Tea is a decadent affair. Guests can order the cake of the day or freshly baked scones, as well as a selection of sweet and savoury items accompanied by either coffee or tea, Méthode Cap Classique or a craft gin and tonic.
