It’s that time again, the Good Food and Wine Show is hitting up Cape Town this weekend – don’t miss out on the event of the year
The highlight of every foodie and wine aficionados year, is here. Today marks the start of the Good Food and Wine Show (GFWS) which will run at the CTICC until Sunday.
As always, the GFWS will be showcasing the latest food trends alongside some of SA’s finest wines. With over 60,000 visitors to last year’s show, this year’s promises more food, more wine and more personalities.
This year the GFWS is bringing the world’s first celebrity chef and enfant terrible Marco Pierre White to SA as he shares the spotlight with South Africa’s first Michelin-starred chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen.
Of course, that’s not where it stops, as local favourites will also be hitting the stage, including everyone’s favourite singer turned celebrity chef J’Something – who will also be treating visitors to his vocal talents as he performs some of his MiCasa favourites.
Also on the food menu: Reza Mahammad, Jenny Morris, Lentswe Bhengu, Sarah Graham, Neill Anthony, Lisa Raleigh, Sherwyn Weaich and Vanessa Marx; while Lloyd Jusa (Saxon Hotel), Gregory Mutambe (12 Apostles Hotel) and Tinashe Nyamudoka (The Test Kitchen) will share some of their fine wine knowledge with show attendees.
Expect to be wowed by amazing food, the biggest elephant cake in the world and much more!
The next destination for the GFWS will be Johannesburg where they’ll be taking over the Ticketpro Dome from Friday 28 July until Sunday 30 July. The event will culminate in Durban at the Durban Exhibition Centre from Friday 27 October until Sunday 29 October.

Tickets are available at the door. Children under 12 can attend for free and Friday (today) is free for pensioners. Tickets are available online at the GFWS website (www.goodfoodandwineshow.co.za) and Computicket.
