What do you get when you take the freshest seasonal ingredients and fuse the best techniques and flavours of Eastern and Western cuisine? You get Greedy Buddha’s menu.

This Asian-inspired restaurant in Palm Boulevard in Gateway has everything you need for a memorable meal, including a cocktail terrace with a floating deck and twinkling lights… What more could you ask for?

The menu is divided into a tapas tasting menu or a la carte, both with a unique South East Asian twist. The tasting menu is well priced, at only R209 for an espresso soup, two classic starters, three signature starters, a half portion of bang bang noodles and a dessert. There’s also a drinks special of 50% off cocktails before 6pm, so if you’re looking for a long, lazy lunch venue, this is it!

There’s an impressive variety of vegetarian options, some superb dim sum, and my personal favourite – the Ducking Fantastic Platter, which lets you assemble your own five spice confit duck pancakes at the table (complete with Hoi Sin sauce, cucumber and spring onion).

Not so hungry? Try one of their Signature Salads (I vote for the sushi style with citrus cured Norwegian salmon sashimi) or a Greedy Wrap.

The extensive menu – including noodles, wok dishes, meat and seafood – has something for everyone, including “picky Young Buddha’s” who get egg friend rice or noodles with crispy chicken nuggets or pork belly and ice cream for dessert!

Closed on Monday lunch for meditation, Greedy Buddha is open for lunch and dinner every other day, including public holidays. Pop in for a delicious Asian experience.
