Simple decor greets you as you enter Indian Summer’s new spot on Newport Avenue in Glenashley. But behind that understated simplicity lives a superbly varied menu that caters for sophisticated palates.
Indian Summer’s menu offerings are extensive, but don’t let that befuddle you. Once you’ve settled on your supper choice, you won’t be disappointed. Whether you like it hot or not, the Indian Summer team will whip up an authentic and awesome meal that’ll keep you coming back for more.
Meals from scratch
Sometimes, the service can be a little staggered, but that’s only because each meal is created from scratch – you can forgive a little wait for such magnificent soul food. It can get pretty busy at Indian Summer, especially over the weekend, but your patience will be rewarded when you tuck into what’s served to your table. Ask a friendly waitron to bring you a chilled beer or soft drink and enjoy the neigbourhood hubbub as you relax at an outside table.
Savoured and enjoyed
I can thank Indian Summer for prompting me to bust out of the bunny chow train, and settle for a side serving of garlic naan. Crispy in the right way, and gorgeously fresh to boot, you could probably serve me a plate of the naan with a bowl of korma sauce and leave me there all day. Eating at Indian Summer is an experience not to be rushed, but savoured and enjoyed with the people you love.
Of course, I love the korma but the restaurant’s ability to cater to my kid’s specific tastes amazes me too. Removing the chilli from a meal is never a problem, and neither is mixing it up to serve a lava-hot vindaloo for my fiance. Open for lunch and dinner, Indian Summer’s comfort food will have you coming back again and again. Keep a spot for me – I’ll use (nearly) any excuse to sample a little more of that menu.
