When it comes to activities for the kids, the Southern Suburbs are filled with fantastic options to keep them happy. Here are a few of our favourites.

Rush Indoor Trampoline Park

If you want your kids to burn off major amounts of energy and have major amounts of fun in the process, take them to this indoor trampoline park where they can bounce to their hearts content.

Activities 01

Galileo Open-Air Cinema

During the summer months, you can experience the joy of an outdoor movie with the whole family. Check out the line-up for the family-friendly films (if you have younger kids) or take them to an old classic… ET in Kirstenbosch Gardens, anyone?

Kenilworth Karting

An adrenaline-packed outing for older kids, these go karts are fully kitted out for major excitement. Voted South Africa’s best indoor karting venue by Diners Club magazine!

Activities 02

School of Rock, Claremont

The Playshed, Pinelands

The Playshed offers an indoor play centre and party venue ‘where the sun always shines’ – which is a must in Cape Town’s cold and rainy winter! Specifically for kids under 10 years, there’s an under 3-year-old padded zone for babies and a fabulous play area, craft area and dress-up zone for those older than three.

Activities 03

Kirstenbosch Botanic Gardens

Picnics, hikes, paddling in the river, catching tadpoles, climbing trees and exploring the vast national botanical gardens – Kirstenbosch has something for kids (and adults!) of all ages…

Artjamming, Cavendish Square

The art of paintertainment! Let your kids get creative with a blank canvas, paint and an array of tools – paintbrushes, sponges and qualified artists on hand to help you if you need it. They also offer Messy Play, specifically for younger kids.

Activities 03

Acrobranch, Constantia

An adventure course with aerial obstacles for various skill levels set inside a forest… This will either sound amazingly fun, or terrifying! But it’ll certainly be an adventure your kids won’t soon forget.

Tots n Pots, Constantia

Looking for a helper in the kitchen? These fun, hands on cooking workshops are aimed at parents and kids who want to have creative time in the kitchen together.
