The Royale
Brothers Marc and Marcel Cronje and their cousin Dylan Rode opened The Royale on 13 October. Marc says their new restaurant has grown swiftly in popularity, purely by word of mouth. Occupying the space formerly home to Warm and Glad in Craighall, The Royale focuses on Cuban cuisine, served in a beautifully decorated space, and attracts a vibey bar scene later in the evening too. Think sipping on mojitos as you brush past palm fronds and try out your first mouthful of cheesy jalapeno fries or fresh oysters. Then move on to “mojo-rubbed” pork belly or a Cuban sandwich with fresh mustard, and finish off with banana bread and rum custard. A great option for taking small teams who may want to socialise at the bar after dinner or lunch.
Urban Yard
What makes this venue special is its positioning high above the trees, giving a sense of space as you gaze 360° around you. Suitable for conferences, dinners and parties, Urban Yard opened in November 2016 and can host up to 150 people. Located in Bryanston, with a picturesque rooftop outside area and many dining options, it’s versatile enough to adapt to any concept you want to bring to life.

This lush oasis near Sandton has racked up many awards for its spa and luxury accommodation.
