Nestled in the heart of picturesque Waterkloof, on the corner of Milner Street and Long Avenue, Meet on Milner has an elegant charm with an inviting ambience. Owner Yente Pienaar opened this homely, yet stylish, restaurant in 2013. It offers a choice between street-side dining or dining in one of the two large intimate inside sections, each with its own bar.

Meet on Milner’s low lighting creates an inviting, romantic atmosphere. The grey walls are adorned with framed Italian prints. There are also lamps with classic-style lampshades, and linen tablecloths on each table. Soothing jazz and big band music playing in the background transports to an olden-day era.
Meet on Milners simple and impressive menu
The menu delivers home-grown, organic, simple dishes that are complimented with fresh herbs from the garden. It includes a variety of dishes with fresh flavours: from French toast, spring rolls and omelettes, to salads, steaks and pastas.
For starters, I recommend the artichoke fritters served with honey, thyme and pecorino, or try the Spicy Diablos made with dates, jalapenos and soft white cheese wrapped in bacon. For mains, try the Dijon fillet – Meet on Milner’s signature dish accompanied with zucchini chips – or try a generous portion of Thai green chicken curry with fine green beans, toasted almonds and coriander, and served with basmati rice.
Delectable desserts
Round off your meal with the chocolatey, melt-in-your-mouth Milner Mousse, or indulge in the Chilli-Chocolate Spring Rolls served with vanilla ice cream topped with honey, thyme almonds and lemon zest. The quality and taste of Meet on Milner’s dishes is impressive and will have you coming back for more.
