With technology changing the way consumers shop, Yesh Harishunker identified the need for an innovative app that brings The Pavilion shopping centre directly to you. With the entire retail offering at your fingertips, shopping has never been easier. Yesh tells us more.
How did your business start?
I met my co-founder Schalk Kotze on another project we were both doing in Cape Town, and we quickly realised that his technological genius could deliver against my ambition. A number of years later we had built a very successful e-commerce shopping app to help retail stores get an e-commerce platform, conveniently located on one shopping app. The success was immediate and the rest, as they say, is history.
Why did you choose this area to set up shop?
We chose to work with The Pavilion shopping centre, as the centre manager, Nisha Kemraj, had the vision for The Pavilion brand to take shopping convenience to the people.
How did you find your premises?
We have our own offices in Pretoria and Durban, but we work out of The Pavilion shopping centre.
Why are the premises ideally suited to your business?
The tenants and centre management team are based at The Pavilion shopping centre, so we have access to them all the time. Being on site allows us to change and add retailers as they arise.
Who are your neighbours?
We operate from centre management with normal retail stores around the office.
What are the shop rental/sales prices like in this area?
Standard retail rental prices apply.
How many people use your app each day?
The app has very high usage stats and grows daily.
Do you have any expansion plans?
Yes, we plan to role the app out in different cities in South Africa with different malls.
What’s your most popular item?
The Mimmos gourmet chicken maestro pizza seems to be the popular favourite that gets ordered on the app frequently.
