The seaside suburb of Summerstrand in Port Elizabeth is a popular retirement choice – here’s why.

Location location location:
Sandy beaches, beautiful sea views and a community of all ages make Summerstrand a popular option for retirement, with a number of villages in the suburb, including Summer Dunes Retirement Village, Kingshurst, and Somerson Retirement Village. Good security, social activities for residents and all-important frail care facilities are just a few of the boxes ticked in these villages, as well as a host of lifestyle options from walking along the beach to eating at one of the many restaurants (many of which offer pension discounts) or even visiting the Boardwalk Hotel and Casino complex, where you’ll find mini golf and movies as well as the usual casino entertainment!
