Decadent breakfast options include phyllo pastry quiches, traditional croque monsieur and utterly divine Napolitana eggs… All complemented of course by perfectly brewed cups of coffee!
The quirky menu is perfectly in step with the gallery, and items like the breakfast “palette”, which allows you to “paint” your own selection of goodies (from eggs and salmon to bobotie mince, chicken livers, grilled veggies, pestos and more) are guaranteed to make you smile. It stands for Bread, Ice cream, Cake, Croissant, Coffee and Sandwich – so in a nutshell, pretty much all the most delicious things in life, all under one roof! In essence, it’s a merger between an old-fashioned Italian gelateria, a master bakery and patisserie, and a coffee shop where locals like to meet and mingle and get good coffee. The masterminds behind this South African version of “pavementista society”, the Mazzone family, are dab hands in the industry and come from a long line of Italians who have worked in gelaterias. The dream as born to open something similar her and soon another shop followed in Franschhoek in the Cape too. All the recipes of all the treats you’ll find here are part of the proud Mazzone family tradition – and that’s pretty evident the minute you set foot in their lovely and welcoming space. So what can you look forward to? Bricccs’ premium morning muesli is a great way to start the day, as is their creamy scrambled or poached eggs of ciabatta or a croissant. And then there are sweet and seductive chocolate twists, limoncello cake, moist carrot cake, and lemon cheesecake…
