The time is finally here to break out those sandals, pack up those woollen scarves, and step outside because summer has officially arrived in Joburg. There’s no better way to celebrate the sun than with a glass of cool sparkling wine and a fabulous meal – and there’s no better place to do it than at Arbour Cafe and Courtyard.
Arbour has already established itself as a not-to-be-missed spot in Joburg for great food and drink with chic French style and an unbeatable vibe, and in summer this spot really comes into its own. A whimsical and elegant space, the leafy outdoor courtyard is known for fantastic events, and one of the most talked about, must be the monthly Bubbly Sessions, which were launched at the end of August. These take place in collaboration with MANGERmanje, the food, drink, and foodie events platform that has already made its name across Joburg as the ultimate in brunch events in the city. They bring their specific brand of magic to these unforgettable nights each month.
Moving away from all things breakfast (and lunch!), the Bubbly Sessions are an altogether more grown-up event from the Arbour and MANGERmanje teams, complete with an incredible accompaniment of some of the best champagne and sparkling wine specials in Joburg. This is thanks to Arbour’s partnership with Great Domains, who have been importing fine wines into South Africa from some of the most revered domains in Europe for nearly twenty years, and who will be bringing wine lovers vintages that they may never have come into contact with before.
The end result of the creative collaboration between these three incredible teams, is a bubbly tasting evening and delicious meal like no other – so it’s no surprise that they book up quickly. Each monthly event’s four-course menu has been specially designed to suit the champagnes and sparkling wines of the evening. You’ll find unique touches from each of the three event partners on the night that are guaranteed to make it one that you won’t forget soon. The perfect way to welcome summer!
