This pre-primary, junior and senior school focuses on holistic education of the child, with an impressive track record for a superb education. It’s an all girls Catholic school, but welcomes children of all denominations.
Herschel Girls School, Claremont
A private, boarding and day school for girls in Claremont, Herschel is an independent Anglican school for children from pre-nursery to Grade 12.
Bishops Diocesan College, Rondebosch
This independent, all-boys school is one of Cape Town’s finest, with a long history, strong academics and great sporting.
St Joseph’s Marist College, Rondebosch
This Catholic school is fully co-educational and offers schooling from pre-school to matric, including the option of Montessori classes from pre-primary to Grade 6.
Reddam House, Constantia
Reddam is a co-educational, non-denominational international school with an emphasis on holistic education: academics, the arts, sports and global reach. Reddam schools are found all over South Africa, as well as the UK and Australia.
Constantia Waldorf School
This co-educational Waldorf school has a stunning campus in Spaanschemat River Road, Constantia and offers schooling from playgroup to matric.
SACS
SACS (or South African College High School) is the oldest high school in South Africa – founded in 1829. It’s an all-boys high school with a strong emphasis on sports and academics.
Rondebosch Boys
Rondebosch Boys Preparatory School and Rondebosch Boys High School are both among South Africa’s oldest schools, with strong traditions and excellent academic and sporting offerings.
Wynberg Boys and Girls
Wynberg Boys High School and Wynberg Girls High School are both known as excellent state schools with a wide range of academic and extra-curricular activities on offer.
Westerford High School
Westerford is an excellent public co-educational school with a campus in Rondebosch that houses the main school buildings, and a secondary campus in Newlands that’s used for sports.
