Known for big houses and epic beaches, Umhlanga is also famous for trendy watering holes popping up left, right and center. Whether you’re meeting with mates for pre-party drinks or after-work beers, Umhlanga is an ideal area to hit up, thanks to its convenient location and wide selection of surrounding restaurants and bars. Here are a few of our favourite finds.

The Dutch

The Dutch offers patrons a top selection of cocktails, wine and craft beer as well as live music, comedy evenings and an incredible food menu. With its old-school vintage vibe, The Dutch has even been host to the filming of a few local music videos.

The Lighthouse Bar

No doubt Durban’s crown jewel The Oyster Box has been visited by many international celebs, politicians and the general rich and famous. The good news is that the doors are still open to us mere mortals and you can go grab a drink while overlooking the ocean.
