Machics Restaurant
Corner Lynwood and Simon Vermooten Road
Superior food, a great pub-style vibe and seriously good specials – all of this and more are par for the course at Machics, where there is something for every taste, and never a dull moment! With various offers constantly being featured (like a free Heineken draft with a 300g sirloin; or a free glass of KWV Roodeberg with the slow-cooked lamb shank), there are also all kinds of events – like Meaty Mondays and Tasty Tuesdays. In short – you’re in for a treat! The restaurant’s management team comes with almost 50 years of restaurant and pub experience, so great hospitality is the name of the game and it’s no wonder that this is such a favourite among locals.
Fabio’s (formerly Ristorante L’isola)
585 Rossouw Street
There is no denying it – authentic Italian food, made with love, skill and a whole lot of passion, is simply unbeatable, and at Fabio’s, this is what you can expect… And more. Here, the Tuesday pizza specials have pretty much become the stuff of legend (with bases done to absolute perfection) and the extensive menu also includes Mediterranean, vegetarian, vegan, European and seafood options galore. If you’re in the mood for a good, old-fashioned bowl of spaghetti (al dente, of course), handmade ravioli in fresh brodo or a succulently seared filetto – this is the place. And you’ll feel right at home walking in to the smell of a large pot of tomatoes boiling, with freshly picked basil being chopped and pasta being expertly rolled by a master pasta maker in this Italian haven of mouth-watering food.
